For three generations, the Williams family has been quietly transforming lives in the Heartland region through their philanthropic commitment to education. What began as a modest scholarship fund established by Robert and Helen Williams in 1988 has grown into a $4.2 million endowment that has supported more than 500 college students.
Robert Williams, a retired teacher, and his wife Helen established the Williams Family Legacy Fund with a $10,000 gift to the Foundation. Their goal was simple: ensure that financial barriers would never prevent a motivated student from pursuing higher education.
Today, their children and grandchildren continue to contribute to the fund and serve on the scholarship selection committee, reviewing applications and interviewing candidates each spring.
